The Riders History
A "Brief History of the ALR" can be found on the the American Legion Riders national site.
We are not a "biker" nor Motorcycle Club. We are first, members of The American Legion (Veteran), The American Legion Auxiliary (Auxiliary) or Sons of The American Legion (Squadron). Some of us are members of two or even three of The Legion Family. Membership in Good Standing, with at least one of the The Legion Family units (noted above), is required for consideration of membership with the American Legion Riders. Oh.... you'll also need a scoot (motorcycle :-). | Why We Ride
For God and Country, we associate ourselves together for the following purposes:
- To sponsor and/or participate in ceremonies,
celebrations, parades and other activities which are in keeping with the aims, purposes and traditions of the American Legion, - To promote motorcycle safety eduction programs,
and - To fostor a social atmosphere for American Legion members with similiar values and interests. |
